Down in the simmering streets of South, Florida resides one of earth’s many beautiful beings. A 27 year old woman of Jamaican west African roots, purpose, culture, family, and talent. By contributing her time and efforts towards the many growing movements of the south. A woman dedicated to supporting raw talent and art at greats costs and with much discipline and love. She does this through the use of music, poetry, and various form
s or artistic expressions with talents as a writer, poet, musician, and healer. She's active with The New Caribbean™ - a Media, Clothing & Culture brand showcasing the Caribbean & the Caribbean Diaspora. She curates events/benefits concerts and wellness conferences are in the works. In September of 2017 they aided towards the efforts of
Yonasda Lonewolf who organized a musical showcase “HipHop 4 Life” to raise funds for the recovery efforts of the Caribbean following the devastating hurricane season. By presenting a last minute showcase featuring a line-up of several local signed and unsigned artists they were able to raise money, food, and all sorts of contributions. The event was located in Little Haiti, Miami at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex towards the end of September. Security was provided by the
brothers of the Nation of Islam. Along with the aid of several community groups. Vendors were provided booths ranging in clothes, foods, drinks, jewelry, services and more. The money raised from purchases was donated to the cause. LoneWolf was able to organize several of these events to take place in major cities across the United States within days of each other. Preceding the show they transported all donations to nearby warehouses where community leaders, the Nation of Islam, and volunteers assisted in
organizing the donations for delivery to the islands. Sunshine was responsible for several tasks including scouting and creating the artist line-up. i Feel she did an amazing job doing so. The headline artists were a few names like Zoey Dollazs, upcoming Dynaedyne, and more. They even decided after the show to create a mixtape showcasing the artist who performed at the charity event. This will be shared across the country and used to bring awareness to the relief assistance they need out in the Caribbean right now. Click To view photos from the event:
She realizes how important it is to be available, consistent, and to give your best even if just a little at a time. In my experience’s with Sunshine I have grown to appreciate her strength, unique perspective, and willingness to accept and communicate with those within the industry and the community on a level that I am not use to seeing. She is honest, transparent (where it applies), and very engaging. In regards to dealing with those involved in music, film, etc its very easy to run into ego’s. And that’s perfectly ok! As creative’s we go through something with ourselves that requires a certain level of self-awareness. She’s totally humble and powerful! Which aren’t traits that you normally see side by side. It was great and a breath of fresh air to be able to work with such an awesome woman.
Sunshine also has a few exciting ventures that will be launching some time in 2018 in the field of radio hosting and artists interviews. She's looking to merge the healing and creative arts. Enjoy photo’s and video from my very up close and personal session with Sunshine captured and presented by Ribelu™ Creative Media. Being an artist is a way of life and I cannot wait to view the accomplishments that I’m sure Sunshine will achieve. Helping to connect the right people, provide creative contributes, and add the love and warmth I feel this industry could use a lot more of. To an even brighter future.
